Detailed Itinerary

Day-by-Day Itinerary for Annapurna Base Camp Trek (7 Days)


Day 1: Arrival in Kathmandu

  • Accommodation: Hotel in Kathmandu.

  • Meals: None (Dinner on your own).

  • Activities:

    • Arrive in Kathmandu and transfer to your hotel.

    • Meet your guide for a trek briefing and preparation for the upcoming trek.

    • Evening free to explore Kathmandu's vibrant markets or enjoy a traditional Nepali dinner.


Day 2: Drive from Kathmandu to Pokhara

  • Transport: 6-7 hour drive from Kathmandu to Pokhara.

  • Accommodation: Hotel in Pokhara.

  • Meals: Breakfast, Lunch.

  • Activities:

    • Drive from Kathmandu to Pokhara, a scenic lakeside city.

    • Relax by Phewa Lake or explore the local attractions like Sarangkot or the World Peace Pagoda.


Day 3: Drive from Pokhara to Nayapul, Trek to Tikhedhunga

  • Transport: 1.5-hour drive from Pokhara to Nayapul (1,070 m).

  • Trek Distance: 8 km (5 miles) - 3-4 hours.

  • Elevation Gain: 1,070 m to 1,540 m (3,510 ft to 5,050 ft).

  • Accommodation: Tea house in Tikhedhunga.

  • Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner.

  • Activities:

    • Drive to Nayapul and begin your trek to Tikhedhunga.

    • Pass through small villages and lush forests before reaching Tikhedhunga for the night.


Day 4: Trek from Tikhedhunga to Ghorepani

  • Trek Distance: 9 km (5.5 miles) - 5-6 hours.

  • Elevation Gain: 1,540 m to 2,860 m (5,050 ft to 9,383 ft).

  • Accommodation: Tea house in Ghorepani.

  • Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner.

  • Activities:

    • Continue your trek through rhododendron forests, crossing streams and waterfalls.

    • Arrive in Ghorepani, a popular viewpoint for sunrise views over Annapurna South, Machapuchare, and Dhaulagiri.


Day 5: Early Morning Hike to Poon Hill, Trek to Tadapani

  • Trek Distance: 11 km (7 miles) - 6-7 hours.

  • Elevation Gain: 2,860 m to 3,250 m (9,383 ft to 10,663 ft).

  • Accommodation: Tea house in Tadapani.

  • Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner.

  • Activities:

    • Early morning hike to Poon Hill (3,210 m) for stunning sunrise views of the Annapurna and Dhaulagiri ranges.

    • Continue your trek to Tadapani, with fantastic views of Annapurna South and Machapuchare.


Day 6: Trek from Tadapani to Annapurna Base Camp

  • Trek Distance: 14 km (9 miles) - 6-7 hours.

  • Elevation Gain: 2,170 m to 4,130 m (7,119 ft to 13,550 ft).

  • Accommodation: Tea house at Annapurna Base Camp.

  • Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner.

  • Activities:

    • Trek to Annapurna Base Camp (ABC), passing through beautiful villages, terraced fields, and rhododendron forests.

    • Enjoy panoramic views of Annapurna I, Annapurna South, Machapuchare, and other surrounding peaks.

    • Overnight stay at Annapurna Base Camp.


Day 7: Trek from Annapurna Base Camp to Bamboo, Drive to Pokhara

  • Trek Distance: 12 km (7.5 miles) - 5-6 hours.

  • Elevation Loss: 4,130 m to 2,350 m (13,550 ft to 7,710 ft).

  • Transport: Drive from Nayapul to Pokhara (1.5-hour drive).

  • Accommodation: Hotel in Pokhara.

  • Meals: Breakfast, Lunch.

  • Activities:

    • After spending the morning at ABC, begin your descent back to Bamboo.

    • Continue down through the Annapurna Sanctuary and reach Nayapul.

    • Drive back to Pokhara for a well-earned rest and celebration.


Day 8: Drive or Fly from Pokhara to Kathmandu

  • Transport: 6-7 hour drive or 25-minute flight from Pokhara to Kathmandu.

  • Accommodation: Hotel in Kathmandu.

  • Meals: Breakfast.

  • Activities:

    • Drive or fly back to Kathmandu.

    • Free time to relax, shop, or explore more of the capital before your departure.


Day 9: Departure from Kathmandu

  • Meals: Breakfast.

  • Activities:

    • Transfer to Tribhuvan International Airport for your flight home.

  • Our Trekking Package Cost doesn't include:


    1. Any meals (Lunch and Dinner) in Kathmandu except breakfast in hotel.


    2. Travel insurance that should cover your accidental, medical and emergency rescue evacuation in case of worst case.


    3. International air fare to and from Nepal.


    4. Nepal Tourist Visa fees.


    5. Items and expenses of personal nature like beer, Any kind of alcoholic drinks, cold drinks, snacks, laundry, phone call, internet.


    6. Personal Trekking equipment’s needed for trekking. We recommend you to check all gears before heading to trek in Kathmandu. Our guide will help you in organizing gears.


    7. Emergency Evacuation (Helicopter Rescue).


    8. Any costs which arise due to a change of the itinerary, because of landslides, domestic flight delays, political disturbance, and strikes etc.


    9. Any other costs whatsoever, that is not mentioned in the cost included.


    10. Horse renting and porters during the trek. Porters can be arranged on request which will cost extra for the trekker which is not included in the package.
