Offered by Himalayan Magic Adventures, this trek includes crossing three high-altitude passes—Kongma La (5,535 meters), Cho La (5,420 meters), and Renjo La (5,360 meters)—while visiting Everest Base Camp, Gokyo Lakes, and the iconic viewpoints of the region. Day-by-Day Itinerary for Three Passes Trek by Himalayan Magic Adventures


Day 1: Arrival in Kathmandu

  • Highlights: Arrival in Kathmandu, Orientation, Free time.

  • Accommodation: Hotel in Kathmandu.

  • Meals: None (Dinner on your own).

  • Activities:

    • Arrive at Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu.

    • Transfer to your hotel, where your guide from Himalayan Magic Adventures will brief you about the trek.

    • Free time to explore Kathmandu’s historical and cultural landmarks like Durbar Square or the Boudhanath Stupa.


Day 2: Fly to Lukla, Trek to Phakding

  • Flight: 35-minute flight from Kathmandu to Lukla (2,860 m / 9,383 ft).

  • Trek Distance: 8 km (5 miles) - 3-4 hours.

  • Accommodation: Tea house in Phakding.

  • Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner.

  • Activities:

    • Early morning flight to Lukla, the gateway to the Everest region.

    • Begin your trek along the Dudh Koshi River through Sherpa villages to Phakding.


Day 3: Trek from Phakding to Namche Bazaar

  • Trek Distance: 10 km (6 miles) - 5-6 hours.

  • Elevation Gain: 2,850 m to 3,440 m (9,350 ft to 11,286 ft).

  • Accommodation: Tea house in Namche Bazaar.

  • Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner.

  • Activities:

    • Trek through the beautiful pine forests and cross several suspension bridges.

    • Arrive in Namche Bazaar, a bustling market town and the gateway to the Everest region.

Day 4: Acclimatization Day in Namche Bazaar

    • Acclimatization hike to the Everest View Hotel for stunning views of Everest, Lhotse, Ama Dablam, and other peaks.

Day 5: Trek from Namche Bazaar to Tengboche

  • Trek Distance: 10 km (6 miles) - 5-6 hours.

  • Elevation Gain: 3,440 m to 3,870 m (11,286 ft to 12,694 ft).

  • Accommodation: Tea house in Tengboche.

  • Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner.

  • Activities:

    • Trek through forests filled with rhododendrons and pines, with spectacular views of Everest, Lhotse, and Ama Dablam.

    • Arrive at Tengboche, home to the famous Tengboche Monastery, and enjoy the peaceful surroundings.


Day 6: Trek from Tengboche to Dingboche

  • Trek Distance: 11 km (7 miles) - 5-6 hours.

  • Elevation Gain: 3,870 m to 4,360 m (12,694 ft to 14,300 ft).

  • Accommodation: Tea house in Dingboche.

  • Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner.

    • Continue trekking through the Khumbu region with views of the magnificent peaks of the Himalayas.

Day 7: Acclimatization Day in Dingboche

  • Elevation: Stay at 4,360 m (14,300 ft).

  • Accommodation: Tea house in Dingboche.

  • Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner.

  • Activities:

    • Spend the day acclimatizing to the altitude by hiking up to Nagarjun Hill (5,100 m) for magnificent views of Makalu, Cho Oyu, and other surrounding peaks.

    • Rest, hydrate, and enjoy the scenic views around Dingboche.


Day 8: Trek from Dingboche to Chukkung

  • Trek Distance: 6 km (4 miles) - 3-4 hours.

  • Elevation Gain: 4,360 m to 4,730 m (14,300 ft to 15,518 ft).

  • Accommodation: Tea house in Chukkung.

  • Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner.

  • Activities:

    • Short trek to Chukkung, located near the base of Island Peak (6,189 m).

    • Prepare for the high-altitude passes ahead.


Day 9: Cross Kongma La Pass (5,535 m), Trek to Lobuche

  • Trek Distance: 13 km (8 miles) - 7-8 hours.

  • Elevation Gain: 4,730 m to 5,535 m (15,518 ft to 18,159 ft) at Kongma La.

  • Accommodation: Tea house in Lobuche.

  • Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner.

  • Activities:

    • Cross the Kongma La Pass, one of the highest passes in the region, with incredible views of Makalu, Lhotse, and other towering peaks.

    • Descend into Lobuche, a small settlement near the Khumbu Glacier.


Day 10: Trek from Lobuche to Gorak Shep, Everest Base Camp

  • Trek Distance: 10 km (6 miles) - 7-8 hours.

  • Elevation Gain: 4,940 m to 5,364 m (16,210 ft to 17,598 ft).

  • Accommodation: Tea house in Gorak Shep.

  • Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner.

  • Activities:

    • Trek to Gorak Shep, the last stop before Everest Base Camp.

    • Continue to Everest Base Camp and take in the magnificent views of the Khumbu Icefall and the towering peak of Everest.

    • Return to Gorak Shep for the night.


Day 11: Hike to Kala Patthar, Trek to Dzongla

  • Trek Distance: 12 km (7 miles) - 6-7 hours.

  • Elevation Gain: 5,364 m to 5,545 m (17,598 ft to 18,192 ft) at Kala Patthar.

  • Accommodation: Tea house in Dzongla.

  • Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner.

  • Activities:

    • Early morning hike to Kala Patthar (5,545 m), offering some of the best views of Everest, Lhotse, Makalu, and other surrounding peaks.

    • After enjoying the view, descend and continue to Dzongla, a small settlement near the Cho La Pass.


Day 12: Cross Cho La Pass (5,420 m), Trek to Gokyo

  • Trek Distance: 13 km (8 miles) - 7-8 hours.

  • Elevation Gain: 4,830 m to 5,420 m (15,850 ft to 17,782 ft) at Cho La.

  • Accommodation: Tea house in Gokyo.

  • Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner.

  • Activities:

    • Cross the Cho La Pass, which offers stunning views of the surrounding peaks.

    • Arrive at the beautiful Gokyo Lakes and enjoy the tranquility of the area.


Day 13: Explore Gokyo Lakes and Hike to Gokyo Ri

Day 15: Trek from Lungden to Namche Bazaar

  • Trek Distance: 15 km (9 miles) - 6-7 hours.

  • Elevation Loss: 4,370 m to 3,440 m (14,340 ft to 11,286 ft).

  • Accommodation: Tea house in Namche Bazaar.

  • Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner.

    • Continue your trek back down, passing through the villages of Thame and Mong, and finally reach Namche Bazaar.


Day 16: Trek from Namche Bazaar to Lukla

  • Trek Distance: 10 km (6 miles) - 5-6 hours.

  • Elevation Loss: 3,440 m to 2,860 m (11,286 ft to 9,383 ft).
